The Graber Family Has Moved!

While we had grown accustomed to living in our 600 square feet apartment in the suburbs of Stockholm, we couldn't refuse when Skanska offered us a bigger apartment in the middle of Stockholm. Our new apartment is located in the neighborhood of Vasatan and is only a 10 minute walk from the Odenplan T-Bana station.

Home Sweet Home
Moving to the new apartment wasn't as easy as I though it would be. While we came with only six suitcases, we have acquired more belongings than I had realized. Also, we had to move everything a suitcase load at time, take a bus, two subway trains, and a 10 minute walk from the station. Luckily, we have some great friends who helped us. For the final load, we called a taxi as we weren't going to move a crib by public transportation!

Belle barely fit in the taxi with all of our stuff
Our new address is Frejgatan 24 and our apartment is on the third floor (which is the American fourth floor). It's a large apartment, especially for being in the middle of the city. We now have two bedrooms and lots of space for Belle to run around. She loves to drive her Minnie Car around the apartment.

Notice the shoe rack? It's a must in every Swedish home as it is customary to remove your shoes when entering some one's home (and even some businesses!). I always have cute socks on now! ;)

We are loving our new space and being so close to everything. It's also been fun having two experiences while we are here- suburbs and city living.

The Sights of London

In January, we traveled to London so Cyle could attend a meeting. Belle and I had a couple of days in London by ourselves while Cyle was at work, but once Cyle was able to join us, we hit the city to see all the sights. We of course had to see Buckingham Palace.

The British Flag was flying, which meant that the queen was not home. If she was in residence, her standard would have been flying instead.

We arrived just in time to see the changing of the guards.

After visiting Buckingham, we headed to Harrods do some shopping and also to warm up (it was a chilly and windy January day in London).

For lunch, we dined at the Disney Cafe in Harrods. I don't know who was more excitied...me or Belle!

It was a memorable and fun lunch.

After lunch, we did a little shopping.

After Harrods, we had one last t iconic sight to see- Big Ben and Parliament.

We ended the day at Trafalgar Square, which commemorates the British Victory at Trafalgar during the Napoleonic War.

We ended our evening with cupcakes by Lola. We promptly called Lola at home and asked her why she never made us any cupcakes! ;)
