Our second first was that Belle got sick for the first time ever. She's had minor colds, but hasn't been sick until last night. We went to put her to bed and she started vomiting. She proceeded to get sick throughout the night, which resulted in no sleep for anyone and a mound of laundry (now I really miss my washer). Luckily, it was nighttime here but daytime at home, so we were able to speak with her pediatrician. In the morning, she still wasn't totally better so Cyle and I were making the decision about whether or not she needed to be seen. Well, we soon realized that isn't so easy. We called the number to the clinic and the answering message was in Swedish. As many numbers as we pressed, we could never get to a human or an option for English. Finally, Cyle was able to speak to someone at work and he helped us sort it out. By that time, Belle was feeling better and we decided against a doctor's visit. The experience made me realize that nothing is easy here. Not knowing the language and being unfamiliar with their healthcare was frustrating. At least we know what to do next time (hopefully we there won't be a next time!).
