It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...at NK Department Store.

Today was the big Christmas window display at NK Department store.  NK is a major and famous department store in Sweden, similar to Macy's in New York City.  (Greta Garbo was once a model for NK Department store).  I have always wanted to go to New York to see the window displays, so I was really excited to learn that NK had a big reveal.  The big reveal happened at 10:50 before the store opened for business.  When we arrived, people were lining the sidewalk in anticipation of not only the reveal of the window displays but also Santa's big arrival.  The store was helping to build the Christmas spirit by  passing out warm glog (mulled spiced wine) and gingerbread cookies...yum!  Finally, the time arrived to see the windows.  Christmas music was played as the curtains were pulled back for the audience to finally see what had been hiding behind the closed windows.  The windows revealed Santa and his elves doing various chores at the North Pole.  My favorite window was of the doll house where all the elves were fast asleep exhausted from their busy Christmas preparations.  After the windows were revealed, Santa arrived on his sleigh to take his post inside to visit with all the children.  Belle was relieved to see that Santa would in fact be able to visit her in Stockholm, although she made us promise to bring her to see him person so she cold tell him where she was living.

After seeing the windows at NK, we wandered around the city and found a cafe where we enjoyed a delicious French lunch. Overall, it was a wonderful day and a great way to start the holiday season.
