Closed for Summer?!?!?

If you plan to visit Stockholm in July, be prepared for businesses, cafes, restaurants, etc. to be closed for the summer.  Swedish employees get a very generous amount of time off for holiday (most employees start with five weeks of paid vacation), and most take a bulk of this time off in July.  Therefore, it is not uncommon to see signs posted on business windows that they're closed for the summer and they'll see you in August.

I was devastated when I saw that Franky's was closing for the summer.  It was our local spot for excellent cheeseburgers.
