Fourth of July in Sweden

     Happy 4th of July!!

We celebrated on the 3rd of July since Mike and Allison had an early trip home to the states on the morning of the 4th.  Our 4th of July festivities was truly an international experience as we had friends celebrating with us from Argentina, Poland and Sweden.

To celebrate, we had a traditional American style cookout (or as traditional we could make it!).  We went to Haga Parken for a picnic-style grill out of hamburgers and hot dogs.

It was decided that Cyle and Nico should oversee the grilling since both cultures know a little bit about grilling (or barbecuing as Nico would say).
Bartec was there to oversee the grilling of the Polish sausages

The food was delicious.  I made macaroni and cheese and nobody(except the Americans) had tasted it before!  I'm glad I was able to introduce them to this American staple!

Belle loved the Polish Sausages

For dessert, I attempted to make an American flag decorated Cheesecake.  #Pinterest Fail!

We were all a little confused when a medical helicopter landed next to us in the park.  Luckily, they weren't there for a medical call but needed somewhere to land and take a break.

Belle loved playing with "Lola" (which is what she calls all dogs).  Although, she was more happy to play with him from afar.  She wasn't quite sure what to do when he came near her.

Of course it couldn't be the 4th without some type of fireworks.  We had to settle for sparklers instead of fireworks this year.

Thanks Allison for braiding my hair!

We had a wonderful and memorable international 4th of July!  Happy Independence Day from Sweden!
